The Crap Just Hit The Fan!
You may not have warning prior to it hitting and be right in the middle of a crap-storm of sorts. Social media is now the organizing spot for something called “wilding”, where groups of people join together in a mass act of violence or robbery and then disperse quickly onto rapid transit systems and by foot. This is just one way masses of people could become dangerous very fast in large masses. There are many we can look at, but here are a couple more.
Another is a type of media-driven insanity, such as a police incident where someone was harmed by law enforcement and the video has been played over and over to entice a response and boost ratings. Then a politician with an agenda biased response can inflate the public rage even more by feeding a mental anger at current economic imbalances, that these same politicians blame on a number of specific groups.
Then there is disaster itself or impending disaster. Some kind of news release about an eminent disaster could have been released in the media, and people are immersed in great fear based on their possible future doom. People will be going out for supplies that will run short in a matter of hours and will be fighting over what is left. You may be caught in the middle of this fight over remaining resources. The human brain naturally goes into a mode where people just start grabbing anything of value from wherever or whomever it rests with.
There will also be people that see all the chaos as an opportunity to seek vengeance on those people they think have held them back or caused them harm, even though it was probably their own laziness that created their lack of joy and material wealth. Whatever the case, they just want to release stored anger on someone or something that fits the description of what they resent. Some people will be out that seek to gain material goods from stores and from the bodies of people, dead or alive. Some will just be out to play anarchist and seek to cause all the damage they can for sick enjoyment.
The National Guard and Law Enforcement Agencies will be out in force as well, so you will do best to read what I have to offer you here and now and remember my advice on hold to face this situation. I have been in the middle of total chaos and fist-fighting and was unharmed for many reasons, actions, and skills. This information is an experienced tutorial of imperfection, personal knowledge, experience, and training.
Learn To Always Stay Focused On the Solution
In every SHTF Survival Situation, stay on point to seek safety, kick-ass to stay alive, wiping all the crap out of your way, and get the hell out of the area of the fan. You need to know where you are at all times when you are out so you don’t have to think too hard while under the stress of all the crazy people running around. You should be prepared so that you aren’t forced to become one of them. Stay constantly in the solution of finding a safe shoreline or channel to navigate, so you don’t get dragged into the flow of chaos and currents of violence.
Please allow me to offer you some suggestions to help you navigate this possible situation, make it to safety, and home alive. These are just suggestions. It’s up to you how much you value your life and your own belief of this happening, based on the life you have lived. You may not have seen total chaos like I have, so you might not even be able to imagine lots of people going crazy, smashing windows all over the place, and beating people for what they have or just to kick the crap out of someone.
If this is your mental state and level of life experience, then I would also suggest that you research and watch some video footage on riots and mass violence to put you in the appropriate mood to learn this important subject matter. This will serve to give you the proper sense of how important it is for you to be prepared to take personal actions immediately when the crap hits the fan around you, wherever you are in the world.
Nine Personal Actions To Take Immediately In SHTF
(1) Assess Your Surroundings:
Where is your vehicle? Are you on foot? Where is the safest place to move immediately? Where is the next safe place to move after that? What is around you that can be used for defense? Select allies if you can for strength in numbers. Move out of the high-population area as fast as you can before it is no longer possible to do without high risk to your life.
Leap frog from one safe place to the next, while fending off possible attacks and avoid the mass of possibly insane people. Show no compassion for those attacking you or you may die. Move upward if the path ahead is not safe. Take the high-ground for best defensive strategy. This is a serious immediate survival situation. Many people die in riots. For every thirty people killed, hundreds are seriously injured from physical assaults upon them.
(2) Put On Solid Footwear:
If you are out on a date or wear high-heals for work, keep at least a pair of light boat shoes in your purse so you can put them on quickly and have a better chance at running for your life and/or climbing to safety. The same goes for men and women that insist on wearing sandals when they outside the home and out in the population.
I would suggest that every time a prepper leaves the home and ventures out into the world, they check their box of common sense for a good, solid pair of shoes that might be the last ones they wear for awhile.
To the ladies and gentlemen that wear dress shoes for work, I would merely suggest that you keep a strong pair of shoes in your desk at work and in the vehicle you commute with, or in your lunch box or briefcase. In my job, I always had my emergency pack with me commuting, and it helped me in the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989, as I commuted to, and was in San Francisco that evening. Stranded there, in fact, and what I had with me served me well.
(3) Remove All Jewelry and Alter Your Identity:
Those diamond rings, earrings, gold bands, and other jewelry give a real sparkles to the eyes of those bent on making the best of an opportunity of chaos, so take them off and put them in your pockets. You might be able to use them in bartering for safe travel out of the area by boat, plane, or safe vehicle. Family heirlooms can’t be eaten or deflect bullets, so you might want to check your priorities with respect to life and limb or material artifacts.
If you are a business person, take off the tie and as much of the suit as possible, scuffing those nice shoes as much as possible. Rioters have an affliction for business people and think they are always bankers or lawyers that have screwed them in some way economically. If you are in law enforcement and all seems to dire to combat, you should pull out the civilian clothing from the trunk of the squad car and change as quick as possible. The point here my friends is to blend in with the crowd of crazies so you can move more fluidly and avoid harm.
(4) Cover Tattoos:
These are a big fashion statement and statement of like or dislike nowadays, but in SHTF, they might be mistaken and set you at odds with others you might want to avoid conflict with. Anyone that doesn’t understand this and says that they will take on anyone, is inexperienced or reckless. Even in the most intense and highest levels of military and martial arts training, it is taught that conflict is to be avoided if possible. Even massive Tigers in the tropical jungles practice this wisdom.
Perhaps a long-sleeved shirt is a good addition to the emergency pack for more than just warmth. It is not my intention here to disrespect your affiliation of any type, but merely to point out a possible source of conflict that will not improve your situation or path to safety. Rivalries don’t help, they hinder, and anyone you can team up with to strengthen your survival chance is a key element for you in a SHTF situation.
(5) Load and Chamber Your Firearm:
No matter what the gun laws where you are is of no accounting here and now in the SHTF situation. Your life and the lives of your loved ones is the priority. We can sort out the irrational points later when all is safe. Whether you are suppose to have it with you or not, load it and chamber a round. The natural laws of life give you the responsibility and right to retain your life by any means you can and have at your disposal.
Perhaps just showing it will give you safe passage through a dangerous situation, but if you are going to pull it out, be prepared to use it. If you hesitate, then a fast and experienced person may be pointing your own gun at you and using it to take your life and those of your loved ones. No matter what the gun laws are, the points of order in the taking of another life will be the intent to harm towards you, the perceived threat in the current environment, and the defense of your family.
(6) Loosen Up Your Muscles, Prime Them, and Add Protection:
Breath deep and loosen up every part of your body while you are assessing the situation. Do some light squats and stress your arms in some way with tension exercises. This will prime your blood stream with oxygen to handle the increased adrenaline flowing into your system, and warm up the muscles in your arms and legs for doing battle or running from danger.
You do not want to pull or strain a muscle right away and come up lame in your efforts to survive this situation. Hopefully you have been training in physical preparedness and have some capacity to defend yourself and move in some expedient way to a safer location. I cannot stress enough the importance of physical preparedness.
If you are in a wheel chair, that’s another deal, but if you can walk, you can train to run. Even if you are in a wheel chair, you can train whatever parts work and strengthen yourself for battle form the sitting position. If you refuse to do so, then grab some hot dogs with your favorite condiment from the abandoned stand, sit back, enjoy and watch the chaos unfold until someone comes up and hits you over the head for your last hot dog.
Find materials that you can fasten to your forearms and shins for added protection from flying objects or blows from weapons. Cover and protect your back, front mid-section, chest, and head, as well. Even thick sheets of cardboard stuffed into your clothing will help to absorb impacts of thrown objects or blows from attackers.
(7) Reset Your Mental State:
You might be at any number of types of activities or functions when a SHTF situation occurs. It might be a happy event or sad one. You might be shopping, having a meal at a restaurant, or out for a cup of coffee with a friend. You might even be on a first date, at work, or picking the kids up from school. No one knows when disaster will strike or where.
No matter what your state of mind at that moment, you need to switch your brain and attitude over to your survival state of mind. This can be practiced by meditating on many different types of situations and with many different places they could occur in your daily moments through life, in mind. Visualize your area where you work, shop, recreate, live, school, and worship.
Yes, you might just have to go from praising God, to fighting for your life and those of your family, while in dress clothing and Good Book in hand. You might have to survive all the way home through a sea of masses of people that did not prepare spiritually for the possible end of life as we know it. While you might be prepared for a grateful life without conveniences, most people will have minds full of fear and snap, unguided by The Spirit inside of them.
These people will be dangerous and you will have to place yourself in the right frame of mind immediately, in order to deal appropriately with them. You must instantly become a person of duty to yourself and your family, and take care of any business at hand in a rational and righteous way. Otherwise, your hesitation in resetting your mental state may just place you and your family in a state of being harmed or deceased.
(8) Take Cover:
If there is no clear path to safety or you are physically unable to travel for whatever the reason, take cover in the first safe place available. From there you can consider a safer place or move deeper into the one you are at presently. The chaos may escalate fast and then subside or last into the night and next day. You may have to stay put for some time, so get comfortable and stay as quiet as possible.
Depending on the size and scope of what is occurring, the response from law enforcement or government forces may not come for hours, days, or even weeks. If the situation is very severe, the government may retreat and prioritize the securing and safety of government buildings, personnel, and officials. Many high ranking government officials will be moved to the safety of bunkers that your well-received tax dollars paid to be built. There are many all over the country and in other countries, as well.
Look around your safe place for anything you can use to defend your spot from marauders. Unless they have guns, you can defend against many people if they have a small area to enter through. Just one or a couple of people can hold of many people if the entrance is small and you have sharp or blunt instruments of pain to offer anyone seeking access. The intruders will have to enter one at a time, unless they are trained in surge techniques of mass-force entrance maneuvers. They might move on to easier pickings and leave you alone for the time being.
(9) Let Go Of Technology:
In SHTF, technology is not your friend, unless it is a gun, stun gun, pepper spray, well-made knife, or some other instrument of defense. Even if your phone works, your call to emergency services will offer a busy signal. A call to a loved one may only make things worse for you or them mentally. The only way it will be useful to call anyone, is if it is to give your location to your group survival team to come rescue you will full armament and an extraction vehicle.
If it gets dark, stay dark. Your light to comfort you will just serve as a beacon of opportunity for the evil people walking the corridors of the night. Now if you want to use a light to draw one of these evil people in to acquire a defensive tool, then this is a good use of such technology. If you want to use a glow stick or light to throw people off your path, then this is a good use of such technology.
The more you settle in to the SHTF situation, adapt, and accept whatever environment and lack of convenience it presents, the easier it will be on your mental state, thus less stress and less dehydration. Stress can lead to dehydration shock. It’s one thing to lack hydration, but the strain of mental stress will place more toxins in your blood stream and stress your organs. Your body will sense this and go into flushing mode, drawing store moisture in the body to clear the organs. Stay calm, accept the situation, and stay in the solution to all that your are lacking for survival.
Mentally Practice Your Possible Future:
In your mental preparedness meditation time, continue to go over the places you frequent in life and run scenarios in your mind as to possible threats you might face in that terrain. See what you would need, where you would travel for safety, places to shelter, and tools of defense you can take or make from the surroundings there. Do this and you have a much better chance of adapting fast to any situation and a higher survival chance rating.
